Guidelines for Oral Presentation
- Please arrive in your room 10 minutes before your session is due to start to meet your chairperson, room’s manager and ensure your presentation is loaded in the room.
- Presenters must use the computer provided by the congress centre: it is not possible to present from a personal computer. The CCD operate a networked system and thus all slides should be uploaded at least one hour before their presentation time in the Speaker Ready Room (Liffey Meeting Room 4, Level 1). Please note: once presentations have been uploaded to the Speaker Ready Room, they cannot be changed.
- Session chairs will keep a strict time and will terminate any presentation that goes beyond the allowed time. This is essential in order to keep parallel sessions synchronized, allowing for delegates to move between sessions.
- Presentations taking place in the Liffey B, and Liffey Hall 1 & 2 will be managed by venue technicians, from a desk, at the back of the hall. They will activate any video or audio file.
- Presentations taking place in the Liffey Meeting Rooms will be managed by the presenter from the laptop on the podium. The speaker cam press play on their slide to activate any video/audio.
- Presentations should ideally be in PowerPoint format but PDF will also be accepted. The CCD have Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2013 installed on all laptops and PCs.
- All of the projection screens in the venue are 16:9 format (widescreen).
- Comfort monitors will be available in the Liffey B, and Liffey Hall 1 & 2. There will not be a second screen to view notes, so presenters may bring a tablet / iPad onstage, if needed.
- All rooms have a clicker/pointer.
- Presenters should not rely on internet access during their presentation, so we strongly recommend to embed all fonts and media within the presentation file, to not use Google Slides and to not rely on online materials, media, web pages, live demos, etc.
- There will be a room manager and/or volunteer assigned to each room to assist speakers, so if you have any difficulties during your presentation, please let them know and they will be happy to help.
